If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
As part of our Great Global Adventure competition, we’re asking students and new graduates who play the game to share their top travel destinations with us. So far, over 2,700 entrants worldwide have told us where in the world they’d like to visit most.
So, which city is currently coming out on top? Overall, Japanese capital Tokyo is the top city on student and graduates’ bucket list, followed by Sydney, New York, London and Paris.
We also divided entrants by region and country to identify which cities are most popular amongst students in different areas of the world. Players from the Americas, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East are keen to visit European destinations such as London and Paris, while young people in Europe chose Tokyo as their ultimate destination.
Splitting players by country, those from France and the UK are choosing the same top five cities (Tokyo, Sydney, New York, Cape Town and Rio de Janeiro), just in different orders of popularity. Similar patterns are emerging amongst entrants from Mexico and Indonesia who, in spite of their geographical distance, both favour London, Paris, Tokyo, Dubai and Rome.
There are also some unique favourites: South Africa’s oldest city Cape Town is the number one destination from German players while Athens is a favourite of Hong Kong entrants.
