The Great Global Adventure game might be over, but for one unsuspecting student or graduate, their journey is only just beginning. We had almost 27,000 students and graduates from 184 countries around the world, take part in this year’s game. Over the past week, we’ve been sifting through all of the amazing entries and checking the final scores. We’ve now contacted the finalists going through to the first interview stage.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the game. We hope you enjoyed the challenges and learning about AXA around the world. To those who haven’t made it through, don’t forget we have opportunities open all around the world on our Careers page and you never know, you could be the next Paolo Aquino!
As for those of you who have made it through, good luck. Here’s a quick message from last year’s winner Will Moore on what to prepare yourself for, if you should win:
‘The Great Global Adventure is a personal as much as a physical journey. You will repeatedly push yourself to the limit. Whether it’s in organising your travel plans, accommodation, food, or building and maintaining your presence on social media, all whilst travelling - you will soon become proud of yourself as you embark on your global adventure.
The Charity Project and Internships will be some of the most important and rewarding experiences of your adventure. The welcome that I received from the Prestasi Junior Indonesia team in Jakarta was truly humbling. The work that they do with schoolchildren was inspiring and their focus on teaching the new generation to become entrepreneurs, to be inquisitive and to have self-confidence lays the foundation for Global Citizenship.
It was daunting flying to Hong Kong for my first internship but the welcome that I received from AXA Investment Managers was incredible. They supported me in a new, challenging situation and enabled me to successfully learn new skills, to network and to show them what I could offer as a valued team member. This is every graduate’s dream and the key to a future career.’
